I think we (users) can ask with a loud voice the release of it... It is unthinkable to sell a product using code under GPL without observing its terms! No-one's really tested it, and since it was just cracked a couple months ago, it's easier and more desirable to buy the old versions still floating around. I hope you guys revise that chipset and decide to go back to Atheros in future revisions!
