Curious if there are any plans to include usb_modeswitch in future releases. I'm trying to get a Masmovil branded Longcheer WM66 USB HSDPA modem working with my fonera 2.0, but first I need to get it out of mass storage mode.

Accessing the downloading files from the web interface (on a Mac) is extremely slow (10-15Kb/s). Even from a Mac mini hooked through USB to the fonera is not very practical (less than 20Kb/s). I have to wait 7minutes for a downloaded pdf. Imagine a movie!

The fonera is only downloading one torrent, so I doubt it is a device performance issue.

But you guys keep saying we could stream music/video to our computers.... how? Am I doing s'thing wrong?

Now, after rebooting fonera and macs, cannot see the shares anymore, so one step back. Changing password won't fix Finder saying "Connection failed. There was an error connecting to the server" - I am very sorry to say this product is making me fail frustrated and definetly does not look like ready to market... :-(

@Inouk
Regarding TimeMachine: I did follow the instruction, but the fonera is supossed to create a file "start Time Machine, and see how it creates a file on your external-hd called something like: ComputerName_0011a234b5c6.tmp.sparsebundle"

and that never happens.

I do see the HD from TimeMachine and journaling is disabled, but that file is never created... any hints?
thx

Riwid,

I think it's because the upgrade does not keep the samba password, unfortunatelly it is deleted. Just go to the interface and set your current password AGAIN (or set a new one) and it should work.
thanks!

Claudio: When using transmission, USB storage is used as SWAP, pen-drives are just too slow in that case.

ddluk, david: check http://wiki.fon.com/wiki/External_Storage_Use and http://wiki.fon.com/wiki/Time_machine

Claudio: really? it used to seed, let us check on that!

Riwid: maybe after snow leopard update? http://boards.fon.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5930&p=40906#p40906 we will check that as well

Samba on Mac osx was working for me on this release. But stopped working at some point. Says it can't connect. I have restarted and reconnected several times but no luck.

Anyone having same problem?
